Global High School
Business Competiton
(GHBC)
GHBC 2025 is a business competition for high school students. I was quite lucky to have the opportunity to take part in this event as the deputy head of the organizing committee and the chief financial officer.
The competition itself lasted for about two months, but if you count the preparation time, I’ve actually been involved with it for nearly a year :)))) This year marks the second season, and we’re planning to expand it to an international scale - which, of course, means there’s a ton of work to do. From setting up the competition rules, creating the case studies and judging criteria, designing all the visuals, to managing the finances - there were truly countless tasks to handle.
The competition began with online rounds between the participating teams. This year, more than 50 teams from over 10 countries took part - a number that may seem small, but for us, the organizing team, it truly felt like a reward for all our hard work and dedication.
After months of preparation, the final round finally arrived. The finals lasted for three days, bringing together the top 10 teams, including several international participants from Japan, the Czech Republic, Spain, the United States, and more.
On the first day, we hosted a welcome party for all contestants. Everyone stayed together in the same hotel, and I was genuinely happy (and a bit nervous) to be in charge not only of hotel arrangements but also of logistics for the entire event.
The second day was the Cultural Tour, where contestants had the chance to visit Bat Trang pottery village and Do Temple, exploring Vietnam’s rich history and culture. During this trip, I made friends with many contestants from different countries. It was such a one-of-a-kind experience, and I felt truly happy to have shared it with everyone - even though it was a bit tiring, it was totally worth it.
And finally, Day 3 was the official final round. We held it in a truly amazing, huge auditorium at Phenikaa University. In the morning, there was a small fair where contestants could interact and have fun together - the atmosphere was incredible! In the afternoon came the main event. The hall was perfectly prepared, with professional sound and lighting setups.
My task during the event was to manage the audience area, making sure everything went smoothly for guests coming to watch the teams’ performances. There were quite a lot of people attending that day, and the entire competition ran flawlessly from start to finish.
To wrap everything up, we hosted a pizza and goodbye party for all contestants - a perfect ending to a journey full of unforgettable memories with GHBC 2025. Through this event, I not only gained new experiences in organizing a large-scale competition, but also learned valuable skills in teamwork, coordination, and communication and negotiation with sponsors. It was truly such a meaningful and rewarding experience.
